Plymouth Argyle Fans’ Trust has added to its range of skills by co-opting a new board member. Kingsbridge-based businessman Paul Bartolini was asked to join the independent supporters’ body to help the Trust build links with the region’s business community. Paul runs South Hams Supplies, a company providing Architectural Ironmongery to the trade.

A Trust spokeperson said: “We’re delighted that Paul has agreed to join the board. His experience in business will be important in building links to local firms, and one priority over the summer will be to develop a strategy to assist suppliers who stuck by the club but suffered during Argyle’s financial crisis.”

Paul Bartolini said: “I’m excited to join the Trust as it continues to grow in stature and experience. I’m pleased that Argyle has an excellent custodian. Now our job is to show that the Trust can be as important a part of Argyle’s future as it has been in our recent past. I started off volunteering for the Trust on match days and observed first hand the effort the current board members put in to make things work. I was inspired to offer more to help, and I am thrilled to have been invited to join as a co-opted member.”

Paul attended the Trust board meeting on 4th May, the minutes of which are now online in the meetings section.
