The Argyle Fans’ Trust has published a discussion document on the club’s 20% share offer in advance of Saturday’s SGM.

The document is available at the August SGM web area of the this site, along with a link to Supporters Direct’s football licensing proposal document.

The document is intended to help support discussion of the issues surrounding the 20% offer, and to allow consideration of an alternative approach to supporter engagement that has arisen from discussion with Supporters Direct, various advisors, and other Trusts.

The alternative would see the Trust enter discussions with James Brent to explore whether we can define a new class of ‘supporter share’ that would allow fans, through the Trust, to own a share in Argyle whilst also enshrining certain rights and powers in the club. This would provide fans with the emotional benefit of supporter ownership, help safeguard the club and community long-term, and allow Trust investment to be directed through a community share scheme towards an appropriate project of benefit to both the club and community.

The Trust board wishes to gauge the views of supporters before entering into a formal consultation. Please use the contact details in the document to provide any feedback you may have.
