The Trust’s 2018 election process is seeking to fill twelve positions on the Trust board.

The 12 named people in the EMG Chair’s Report below are deemed elected to the Board, subject to any appeal that may be heard.

The Election Management Group (EMG)
The role of the Election Management Group is to ensure that the election is run in accordance with the Election Rules Policy. In order to maintain the integrity of the election process, the Chair of the EMG is an independent person who is not a member of the Trust, and members of the EMG are not eligible to nominate candidates nor be a candidate themselves.
This year, the Chair of the EMG is Neil Le Milliere, who was appointed by the AFT Board at their meeting on Sat 3rd November. Neil is assisted on the EMG by the AFT’s Society Secretary.

Thursday 8th November: Date by which those who are 16 or over wishing to stand or vote in the election must be members. Publication of formal Notice of Election, and nomination papers made available.
Thursday 22nd November (5pm): Deadline for nominations including candidate statements to be returned.
Saturday 24th November (5.15pm): AFT AGM to be held in the Life Centre near Home Park, where the result of the nomination process will be announced. There will be an affirmative ballot for all nominees to be appointed to the Board if there are 12 or fewer candidates.
Monday 26th November (10am): Result of nomination process posted to AFT web site (in this section).
Monday 3rd December: If a ballot is required (13 or more candidates) then on this date the candidate statements will be published on the website (linked from this section) and ballot papers to be posted out.
Friday 14th December (5pm): If a ballot is held, the closing date for return of ballot papers.
Monday 17th December (10am): Result of ballot published on AFT web site, in this section.
Thursday 20th December (5pm): Deadline for appeals.
