The Trust’s 2022 election process seeks to fill six of twelve positions on the Trust board.

The Election Management Group (EMG)

The role of the Election Management Group (EMG) is to ensure that the election is run in accordance with the AFT’s Election Policy. In order to maintain the integrity of the election process, the Chair of the EMG is an independent person who is not a member of the Trust, and members of the EMG are not eligible to nominate candidates nor be a candidate themselves.

The EMG was appointed by a vote of the Trust Board members, as follows:

  • Neil Le Milliere, independent EMG chair
  • Tim Chown, AFT Secretary

Report of the EMG – Election Process Outcome

With three nominations received, there will be no election held, and all three candidates will be presented to be affiormed at the AGM on 30th November.

Key Dates

Tuesday 4 October: Date by which those wishing to stand or vote in the election must be members.

Wednesday 5 October: Latest date for publication of formal Notice of Election, and nomination papers. 

Monday 24 October (5pm): Deadline for nominations including candidate statements to be returned by post or email.

Monday 31 October: Candidate statements and EMG report to be published on the website.

Wednesday 30 November: Result of Election to be announced at the AGM, candidates to be affirmed.

Thursday 1 December: Formal publication of result on Trust web site.

Tuesday 6 December (5pm): Deadline for appeals.
