Following the Green Army’s response to Argyle’s initial allocation of seats to attend matches at Home Park, the AFT is disappointed by reports of challenging conduct from some supporters towards Club staff who have been placed in this difficult position by Government regulations imposed at short notice.
It is our view that issues of this nature are best resolved through courteous discourse and we thank Argyle’s tireless and dedicated staff for all of their hard work in these testing times.
We support the Club’s decision to institute a ticket swap process to help those supporters who missed out on the initial allocation of seats.
This new mechanism comes as a result of other season-ticket holders who are willingly offering to rotate their seat priority to aid other supporters.
We will seek clarity from the Club over how many more seats may be made available, and we remain available to help with this process if needed.
The AFT welcomes the Club’s latest season-ticket update statement, which offers a further opportunity for 20/21 season-ticket holders to claim a full or partial refund.
Despite a remarkable 99.9% of season-tickets holders not requesting a refund earlier in the year, the Club has now given a new window for a refund, due to the notable change in circumstances.
With over 5,000 season-ticket holders, Argyle has a harder task than many other clubs in League 1 to allocate its seats fairly. Some clubs even have seats to spare for non-season-ticket holders.
In this case, the strength of numbers of the Green Army has meant that difficult decisions have had to be made.
